The North Idaho Pride Alliance supports all North Idaho College students, staff, and faculty. The NIC Diversity Council wrote a very powerful statement demanding action be taken by the College’s Administration and Trustees against the harmful and bigoted behavior and language of the audience members. No individual, regardless of how they identify, should have to put up with being called transphobic, homophobic, or bigoted slurs because they are fighting for something they believe in. This type of behavior is truly unacceptable and should not be tolerated by our North Idaho community. As a partner with North Idaho College, helping LGBTQIA+ students, we stand by this statement and support the Diversity Council. The students of our community are the future of this community. We must stop bigotry and intolerance.
